Coaching is all about enjoyment, friendship, participation, and the step-by-step development of both team and individual skills. The contribution of our coaches is vital to the continued growth of Hockey in the Hawkes Bay and to ensure its’ long term future strength and wellbeing.
Hawke’s Bay Hockey Coach Development Courses
HBH delivers the following Coaching courses each year under the New Zealand Hockey Coaching and development framework:Dates will be announce at the beginning of each year for the upcoming courses.
The Dates for 2012 are:
Small Sticks Age 5-8 Monday 26th March
Small Sticks Age 9-12 Monday 2nd April
Youth Age 13-19 Tuesday 27th March
Club Tuesday 3rd April
All courses will be held at Hawke’s Bay Hockey Stadium.
Small Sticks Age 5-8
Targeted at Parents and School coaches of athletes between the ages of 5 and 8 that play a 4/6 a side modified game.
Format: 3 Hour programme, with both theory and practical components
Purpose: These workshops, mainly through practical, will provide information and techniques for entry-level coaches to feel confident to coach players between the ages of five and eight.
Extension Modules: To be developed by HB Hockey/ NZ Hockey to suit personnel needs.
Small Sticks Age 9-12
Targeted at Parents and School coaches of athletes between the ages of 9 and 12 that play a 6, 8 or 11 aside game.
Format: 3 Hour programme, with both theory and practical components
Purpose: These workshops, mainly through practical, will provide information and techniques for coaches to feel confident to coach players between the ages of nine and twelve.
Extension Modules: To be developed by HB Hockey/ NZ Hockey to suit personnel needs.
Youth Age 13-19
Targeted at Club or School coaches of athletes between the ages of 13 and 19 years old
Format: 4 Hour programme, with both theory and practical components, can be delivered in 1 or 2 workshops.
Purpose: These workshops, mainly through practical, will provide information and techniques for coaches to feel confident to coach players between the ages of thirteen and nineteen.
Extension Modules: To be developed by HB Hockey/ NZ Hockey to suit personnel needs.
