More Than a Game
Whether you're picking up a stick for the first time, returning after a few years away, coaching a team, volunteering on the sidelines or cheering from the grandstand, you're part of the Hawke's Bay Hockey community.

Based at Park Island in Napier, we're proud to bring together clubs, schools, players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and supporters from across the region. From junior hockey through to representative and high-performance pathways, our goal is simple: to create great hockey experiences for everyone.
Our Vision
We believe the benefits of hockey extend far beyond the final whistle. Through the friendships we build, the challenges we overcome and the experiences we share, hockey creates connections that can last a lifetime. It encourages healthy, active lifestyles, builds confidence, resilience and discipline, and brings people together through a shared love of the game.
Â
Our vision is to create positive lifelong connections through hockey—for our players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters alike.
A Proud Hawke's Bay History
Hockey has been part of Hawke's Bay since the late 1800s, with the Hawke's Bay Hockey Association formally incorporated in 1977. Today, our home at Park Island features two international-standard water turfs and a stadium that hosts local, regional and national hockey throughout the year.
What We Believe
Everything we do is guided by a simple commitment to:
-
Creating positive experiences for everyone involved.
-
Growing participation across our region.
-
Supporting the people who make hockey possible.
-
Building a sport our community can be proud of.
Come and Be Part of It
Hockey is for everyone. Whether you're looking to play, coach, umpire, volunteer or simply get involved, we'd love to welcome you into the Hawke's Bay Hockey community.
