After careful consideration, HB Hockey has decided not to include the Teenage 6's grade in Term 4 of 2025.
This decision has been made primarily due to ongoing safety concerns that were observed in past seasons. Specifically, concerns regarding the lack of proper safety equipment, as well as gaps in hockey knowledge that could potentially put others at risk. Additionally, we had noted instances of inappropriate language, which goes against the principles of respect and sportsmanship that we strive to uphold.
The safety and well-being of all participants is our top priority, and these factors are crucial in ensuring that everyone can enjoy the game in a safe and respectful environment. We believe this action is necessary to maintain the integrity of the sport and to protect all players involved.
Our hope is to bring summer hockey back, for this age group, some time in the near future. HB Hockey will continue to look at options to create a safe and fun competition for our rangitahi.
