In alignment with the Hockey New Zealand Strategy review and current tournament offerings like AIMS, HBH is now running all Intermediate competitions as 7 a side. The format is part of the 'balance is better" philosophy through Hockey New Zealand.
Play Days and comp length
Division 1 & 2 competition starts on Tuesday 7th May
Division 1 & 2 competition ends on Tuesday 20th August
Division 3 - 5 competition starts on Friday 10th May
Division 3 - 5 competition ends on Friday 23rd August
It is noted that Divisions 3-5 will be scheduled to play 31st May (prior to King’s Birthday) and 5th July (prior to School Holidays).

The Pre Season meeting for Coaches/Managers and Umpires will be held on Wednesday 1st May at 6pm - Park Island Pavilion
No Play Days
Friday 28th June - Matariki
8th July to 21st July - School Holidays
Grading
Schools are asked register their teams according to level and experience to the best of thier knowledge. Depending on the size of division entries, divisions may reqiure a grading round to determine best fit for each team. Division 1 & 2 are limited to 24 teams.
Umpiring
All teams will be expected to provide own umpires.

Game Result Recording
Make sure to download the HBH app which will have the ability to live score from it.
Alternatively record results with game cards which are available at both Park Island and Unison and once the game has finished place your completed cards into either the slot at the front door at Park Island or the box located in the dug out at Unison. Please ensure you write the grade your teams is competing in.
Game results are not required for Friday night grades
Cancellations will be posted on our Facebook page by 2pm weekdays or by 7am on Saturdays during Winter - Hockey is cancelled in the unlikely event of extreme rain or wind chill factors. Alerts of Cancellations are also sent via the HB Hockey App. Download the app to get notifications directly to your phone.
